A finely crafted Victorian-era silver brooch, delicately engraved with scrolling foliate motifs and boldly enameled with the word MIZPAH—a term drawn from the Hebrew Bible (Genesis 31:49), meaning “The Lord watch between me and thee, when we are absent one from another.” Rich in sentimental and spiritual significance, this piece holds particular Judaica interest, as “Mizpah” is often used in Jewish and Christian traditions to signify divine guardianship and emotional connection across distances.

Uniquely, the initial “M” is enameled in a vivid red, symbolizing love or sacrifice, while the remaining letters are rendered in deep blue—traditionally associated with loyalty and remembrance.
