Lovely collectible Bennington gloss brown glazed Batter Jug/Crock comes with tin top and appears to be the original wooden handle. Unusual to have both pieces intact on a jug this age. Interesting details on jug, a pour handle on back, shown in photos, for pour assist and a short stout spout.
8.25" tall to rim, 12.5" tall with handle up. 8" wide at the handles. Original owner reports same jug on display in the Bennington VT museum, the Vermont town home to multiple pottery producers in the mid/late 19th century.
