The top is made of two hinged planks that rotate and slide to one side and then unfolds. When closed, it can function as a console, writing desk, or small breakfast table and when fully extended, it can accommodate 8 to 10 guests. The base has a large drawer with an iron ring pull and is perfect for storing silverware and table linens. Sturdy curved legs ending in carved hoof feet. Good craftsmanship using pegged construction. Some restoration on top planks and legs. Circa 1840-1860
