Purchased from a Designer in the UK & then beautifully reupholstered in San Francisco. The fabric is a traditional plush horsehair & the seat is filled with down/feather padding. Since reupholstery, the settee has been virtually unused and kept covered.
The cabriole legs are walnut; front legs have Ball & Claw feet with Acanthus knees. The piece is in excellent condition and a very comfortable seating addition to any home. At 70” wide, it fits in small spaces nicely.
The period made is an estimate, late 19th century per the seller from whom this piece was purchased.
