Vintage Japanese cotton textile panel featuring a stylized bird-and-floral landscape framed by deep indigo borders and decorative patterned bands. The imagery—birds in flight, flowering branches, and foliage—is rendered in a warm palette of red, rust, blue, and soft neutrals, giving the piece strong graphic presence and visual rhythm.
This textile was purchased in Okinawa in 1971 and reflects mid-20th-century Japanese folk and export textiles influenced by traditional katazome (stencil-dyed) techniques. Unlined and lightweight, it is ideal for framing, wall hanging, or use as a vertical decorative accent in a layered interior.
