Porquier Beau French faience was a joint endeavor between the Porquier factory in Quimper, France and artist Alfred Beau. His naturalistic painting reflected the aesthetic movement of the late 19th century. This basket has the first Porquier Beau mark and was made between 1880 and 1890.

Porquier Beau pieces are arguably the most coveted works from Quimper and are represented in the Victoria & Albert museum in addition to others French institutions. See less
