This beautiful vintage piece of high-quality construction was skillfully crafted in England and sold to us (the sellers) by Harrods of Knightsbridge. Despite its beauty and elegance, it is solid and heavy, shows gorgeously, but stands heavy-duty handling.
It has been lovingly polished and displayed in a dust-free glass display cabinet for over 40 years.
Although brilliantly polished, there is the desirable patina of age so appreciated by collectors. The server's base metal is brass, and its weight is 2.5 lbs. The exquisite artistic solid fringe design is an amalgam of centuries-old carvings giving the platter an antique quality.
There are no serious flaws, but there is a tiny spot where a faint shadow of the brass base is showing through the silver, 3/32 inches.
The platter is 12 1/2 inches in diameter by 1 1/4 inches deep. Value is $250.00 - $300.00.
