The glasses date to the mid-20th century and were produced in France for the North African export market, where this form is traditionally used to serve hot mint tea. Fired enamel decoration is in a warm rust-red tone with white and gold arabesque motifs—a classic design associated with Moroccan tea service. The glass is thin but sturdy, designed to withstand a hot beverage.

The set has been attributed to Scully & Scully, the New York retailer known for sourcing and curating fine European and global decorative objects.

Scully & Scully sold the glasses with the mahogany tray marked: Askham & Telham, Made in Indonesia, Froehlich Furniture, giving the set an elegant presentation for tea, cocktails or display.
