For sale is a striking custom "Kite" chandelier by the Brooklyn-based studio of James Dieter. A masterwork of architectural lighting, this fixture functions as a luminous mobile, defining the space with its bold geometric presence and soft, diffused light.
Design & Materials: The "Kite" system is constructed from a precision-machined black anodized aluminum frame that holds planar fabric panels. This specific configuration features a dramatic interplay of translucent white, opaque black, and deep maroon/red panels. These fabric "sails" act as diffusers, softening the LED illumination into a warm, atmospheric glow.
The design is based on tetrahedron geometry, allowing the structure to appear different from every angle—shifting between solid volume and airy transparency.
Condition: Excellent pre-owned condition. The fixture is currently installed and has been well-maintained in a residential setting. (Note: We recommend professional installation due to the scale and quality of the piece).
The configuration is the Kite 9.3 (dims 69”L x 27”W x 21”H)
It uses (9) 100mA 36v LEDs (900mA on one constant current driver)
