A colorful and artistic cabinet plate with a hand painted fan design.
The porcelain plate has a molded a basket weave surface with a detailed fan design in the center. This fan has a hand painted design of flowers. The top of the fan has a molded design of fabric. The fan is open and has a molded tasseled fan cord lying next to it. The colors are pastel and subdued. The mouth rim has a gilt edge.
The number 05/28/2 is hand-painted in gold on the base. Since 1902 was about 15 years after the Aesthetic Movement was popular is might not be a date.
MEASUREMENTS
8 ½ in (21.6 cm) diameter x ¾ in (1.9 cm) tall. Weighs 10.8 oz.
CONDITION
There are no breaks, chips, cracks, or repairs. There is wear to the gilt mouth rim, as well as some wear to the blue rib on the fan.
