Very nice original hand carved old frame.
The portrait is of is of Mary Saalfeild at age 9years old. From Akron, Ohio.
William John Edmondson, in the collection of the Cincinnati Museum of Art.
He studied in art at the Paris Academie Julian, then returned to the United States and received a degree from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia. After another stint in Paris, William John settled in Cleveland, where he produced portraits of prominent residents and made impressionist landscapes.
40 3/4" x 33 1/5" out side of dimension of frame.
