A striking and extremely rare sculptural vessel designed and handcrafted in Taxco, Mexico by acclaimed artist Emilia Castillo, known for her masterful metalwork, organic forms, and continuation of the Castillo family’s silversmithing legacy. This dramatic, architectural piece—made in solid brass and then silver plated—features a tiered, flared silhouette with a deeply hand-hammered surface, creating a bold interplay of light, shadow, and texture.
The form is fully reversible and can be displayed either as a tall vase or as a monumental candle holder, offering versatility for interior designers and collectors. Its stepped, rhythmic shape gives it a commanding presence, making it equally suitable as a centerpiece, sculptural accent, or decorative art object.
The piece retains its original hallmark:
“Emilia Castillo – Mexico M.R. – TO-85 – Plateado”
Examples of this scale and design are exceptionally rare, and to our knowledge this is the only documented Castillo piece of this model currently available on the market. Like all Emilia Castillo creations, it is entirely handcrafted—never mass-produced—underscoring its collectability.
