Ptarmigan are alpine game birds known for turning completely white in winter, and they were a favorite subject of Edward Marshall Boehm. The rounded bodies, feathered feet, and snowy branch base are all characteristic of Boehm’s ptarmigan models. Marked to underside “Boehm, Limited Edition, Ptarmigan, 463E, Made in U.S.A.” Produced mid-20th century.
