Antique Rajasthani storage chest "pitara chest", made of teak with metal strapping. The front is clad in a distressed pressed metal with geometric patterns. Remnants of old blue paint can be found on the side and faintly in the front metal sheet. This style of chest has been reduced in depth from the original antique to create a more useful sideboard or console table with a hinged top. The pitara chests are primarily from Rajasthan & Gujarat in western India.
