This is a beautiful, intricately woven, large antique laver Kirman wall tapestry. Fields of light and dark blue floral vine designs surround a central blue medallion. Alternating variegated light and dark blue pools of vines and flowers are set against a subtle red background. Sand-toned vines connect the flowers in each section and accentuate the borders.

The small, intricate patterns and soft flowing lines of flowerheads and vinery are possible due to the fine weave and the outstanding quality of the wool and silk. Four-inch tassels on each side complete the elegant look.

This tapestry has been in my family since 1976. We have the original authenticity certificate my parents received when they purchased it from Morice Ossendryver and A. Vischschoonmaker of Nassau, Bahamas.
