A fine pair of bronze bookends.

In bronze.
One bookend with George Washington in profile with the Washington family coat of arms and family motto 'Exitus acta probat' ("The outcome justifies the deed"). The other bookend with Washington's famous Mount Vernon residence and the United States coat of arms.
Marked to the front foot of each bookend for 'Mount Vernon' & 'George Washington' respectively, the George bookend also displays his years of birth & death (1732 / 1799).
With a maker's mark to the side of one bookend.
Simply a wonderful set of bookends paying tribute to one of America's founding fathers!

They are in overall good, as-pictured, used estate condition.
Condition Details:
There is slight outward lean to one bookend. Otherwise, there is some light edge wear, some fine & light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age.
(And there is obvious wear to the felt padding on the foot and back.)
Marks:
Marked 'F.R. Woodward' to the side of each bookend.
