The sleek, architectural silhouette with a wide flared rim makes it a strong decorative object even without flowers.

The workmanship is notably high grade. Faces are delicately modelled, garments densely patterned, and the narrative scene is animated by flying birds and flowing wisteria branches. Moriage and raised gilt enrich the surface with tactile relief, giving depth and a light-catching, jewel-like quality.

Marked to the base with a red seal 南山 (“Nanzan”).
