This exceptional footed bowl comes from the renowned Karlsruhe Majolica Manufactory and was designed by the sculptor Christian Heißer (1897–1972) in the early 1930s. Bearing the serial number 9820, the piece impresses with its unique design: The shallow bowl, with its delicate crackle glaze in turquoise, sunny yellow, and shades of gray, rests on a triple-sectioned base adorned with expressively modeled, stylized mythical creatures (lions, monkeys) with paws, glazed in an intense blue.
A highly decorative and museum-quality collector's item from the golden age of German architectural ceramics. This piece has an attribution mark,
