A modernist drink set of with glazed ceramic 5 cups and pitcher, made by noted Hungarian-born studio potter Eugene Deutch (1904-1959). Deutch studied under modernist sculptor Constantin Brancusi in Paris before emigrating to the United States and establishing a studio in Chicago. c1940-50s, signed bottom.
Deutch’s concern for simplicity, functionality, and the interaction of form with everyday living, key principles of modernist design.
