Beautiful still life of French staples from a closed edition issued by Julian Merrow Smith’s atelier in France, hand-signed, numbered and editioned on recto, on heavy textured cotton paper, based on his original oil painting. Custom-framed in gold solid wood with great heft and ornamentation, with black linen liner, under museum acrylic.
After Jean Simeon Chardin, an 18th century Master of Still Life in the French tradition. Hyperrealism at its most beautiful and accessible.
Smith is a UK artist who lives in Provence. His work focuses on light and color in quotidian French coastal life. This is a very high quality print that will accent contemporary and traditional decor alike. A beautiful French still life in the hyperrealist style. A versatile yet rare piece: sure to be a family heirloom.
