Crafted in England circa 1960, the oval tray is constructed of finely figured burl walnut and features a raised, gently scalloped gallery edge that follows the graceful oval form. The surface is beautifully decorated with a central marquetry and inlaid medallion depicting a classical shell motif, executed in contrasting woods and framed within a delicate oval reserve.
The tray is fitted with two original brass handles at each end, showcasing softly sculpted forms and a warm, naturally aged patina that complements the rich walnut surface.
