The extraordinary "Diamante - Scultura 99" table, designed by Luciano Frigerio for Frigerio di Desio in the 1970s, is part of an extremely rare limited edition of just 99 pieces.
It is one of 99 originals produced by the Frigerio atelier, today considered among the most sought-after and representative pieces of the master's oeuvre. The table is sold with an official certificate issued by the Frigerio heirs, definitively certifying its provenance and originality.
The sculptural base, crafted from African Padouk, is composed of an architectural sequence of overlapping modular elements, crafted and fitted with absolute precision.
The protruding and recessed parts create a complex geometric rhythm, with alternating solids and voids that recall the Brutalist aesthetic and the great tradition of Italian cabinetmaking.
The surfaces, perfectly smooth and deeply grained, interact with the three-dimensional modulations of the individual slats, transforming the base into a true monolithic sculpture. The upper surface, in cut glass, amplifies the perception of the underlying volume and allows the structure to emerge in all its plastic strength.
Luciano Frigerio, a central figure in postwar Italian design, created a limited-edition series of sculptural furnishings (Scultura99) in the 1960s and 1970s, crafted from noble materials and with a strongly sculptural vision.
Among these, the "Diamante" model represents one of his most emblematic and rare creations, a perfect synthesis of monumentality, excellent craftsmanship, and aesthetic research.
The table is in excellent condition and is a work intended for collectors and connoisseurs of fine Italian craftsmanship, ideal as the focal point of a dining room, an executive office, or a contemporary interior that showcases unique and sculptural pieces. An absolute masterpiece of Italian design, its rarity is accentuated by the fact that only 99 examples exist worldwide.
