This assemblage centers on a Rörstrand Swedish hard-paste porcelain plate bearing a maritime illustration dated 1700, framed by an intentional arrangement of coral, shell, and driftwood.
Referencing early cabinets of curiosity, the work explores the dialogue between navigation and nature, refinement and erosion. The restrained palette and tactile materials lend the piece a contemplative, mid-century sensibility—reading as both artifact and artwork.
The contrast between refined porcelain and organic materials creates a balanced, sculptural composition that feels collected, nautical, and timeless.
An evocative accent piece for shelves, walls, or layered interiors, bringing a sense of coastal history and quiet wanderlust into the home.
The shadow box measures 16"L × 10.25"H × 2"D.
**My work explores the intersection of collected history and natural form. Drawing inspiration from early cabinets of curiosity and mid-century restraint, I assemble found and vintage objects alongside organic materials to create quiet, contemplative compositions. Each piece is one of a kind—an arrangement of time, texture, and memory—inviting the viewer to pause, look closely, and consider the poetry of what has been preserved.
