Mr. Smith began … Read more A terrific Navajo concho or concha belt made by well known and well respected artisan, Herman Smith. Mr. Smith began making jewelry at a very young age and was taught by his mother, Mary C. Yazzie. His entire family is well known for their silversmithing talents. This belt has a heavy buckle and eight (8) concha bears in the channel overlay technique. All hand stamped using a very heavy gauge silver. It is stamped "sterling". This belt was most likely a custom made piece as it measures a full 44" in length. The bear conchas measure 2.5" x 4". The buckle measures 3.25" x 4". See less
