1920s italian signed landscape oil on canvas painting
emilio borsa monza countryside
countryside landscape of monza park, with a bare willow tree in the foreground.
in the background, a glimpse of the stone bridge over the lambro river, symbol of the city, can be seen rising elegantly, reinforcing the link between nature and architecture.
the work bears the signature of the artist e. Borsa in the lower right corner, confirming its authenticity and rarity.
emilio borsa's studio (milan, 1857 – monza, 1931) was located at cascina del sole, the residence of a family of gamekeepers.
for the monza-based painter, “true painting” arose from daily observation of nature and careful, almost scientific study of leaves and stems. He loved to paint landscapes without figures, immersing himself in the complete solitude that only nature can offer, filling the air with its rustles and natural sounds.
this small painting is an exceptional piece that will appeal to the most discerning collectors and art lovers looking for a rare and serene work. It will find a place of honour in an elegant interior or a prestigious art collection.
this artwork, never before on the market, comes from an important private italian collection and is beautified by an impressive original frame in gilded wood, in good condition; it features decorative elements in relief, elongated and rounded in shape, typical of the first half of the 20th century.

among his works, the painting “primavera” marked his first success, which was followed by many others.

he was awarded prizes at the paris exhibition in 1889 and the barcelona exhibition in 1892.
his etchings are also noteworthy.
he is particularly appreciated as a landscape painter and has won several awards (paris, 1889; barcelona, 1892).
