The screen opens and … Read more Rare and beautiful iron fireplace screen with brass details, engraved with the Dimensione Fuoco brand name. The screen opens and closes like a curtain. This object was designed by Afra & Tobia Scarpa for the Italian company Dimensione Fuoco.
Tobia Scarpa was born in Venice in 1935, where he graduated in architecture. with his wife, Afra Bianchin, he founded one of the most successful and well-known professional studios; together, they created many innovative projects in the industrial design scene. In 1960, they collaborated with Gavina; the "Bastiano" sofa and the "Vanessa" metal bed are currently the most successful pieces in the Knoll International collection. For Cassina, for which they designed a complete collection of home furniture, they created the "Soriana" armchair, which won the Compasso d'Oro, and the 925 armchair, which is on display in the permanent exhibition of the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Tobia Scarpa has worked with the Castiglioni architects since 1960 as a designer for Flos. His latest successful creation is the "Papillona" floor lamp.
