Exquisitely carved cameo of a maiden with flowing tresses bound by a garland, with a flower on her shoulder. The frame is intricately wrought and set with dozens of shimmering marcasites. The abalone shell in which this is rendered is luminous and shot through with flickering colors of red and green and blue, shifting and scintillating as it moves in the light. Condition is impeccable throughout; the cameo is flawless, and the sterling frame is sturdy and secure, with all original marcasites present. Marked "925" and a maker's mark of "R". 2"L x 1.6"W.
