Elegant Louis XV–style provincial armchair (fauteuil) crafted in walnut, featuring a softly shaped upholstered back, generously cushioned seat, and classic cabriole legs. The carved wood frame showcases restrained floral detailing typical of provincial interpretations of the Louis XV period, with gently scrolled arms and original brass nailhead trim.
Upholstered in a neutral, finely striped fabric that pairs easily with both traditional and transitional interiors. The chair has a comfortable, lounge-like sit and works beautifully as an accent chair in a living room, bedroom, or study.
Previously part of a private residence and professionally evaluated by Sotheby’s as a Louis XV Provincial walnut fauteuil. Solid and structurally sound, with visible age-appropriate wear to the wood frame consistent with vintage use (see detailed photos), adding to its character and authenticity.
