The rich vitrification … Read more A stunning zoomorphic fish-shaped jug, crafted from extremely hard and compact majolica, glazed, polychrome, and entirely hand-molded. The rich vitrification is excellent, testifying to the high quality of the feldspar-rich glazes used. The distinctive fishtail handle rotates on itself and joins the main body of the jug with the fin at the end. The checkerboard decorations on one side of the jug, entirely hand-crafted, are also beautiful. The patina is good, and the piece dates back to around 1950. Signed "Ceramiche D'Ischia" under the base, along with the artist's acronym. Unfortunately, we have not been able to decipher it; anyone with more information is asked to contact us privately. The artistic production of Ischian ceramics, which began around 1950, consists of modern-style majolica, influenced by the Vietri tradition. This piece has an attribution mark,
