The TEXT II Series riffs on the Text Cutouts and Text Photograph Series, marrying words and phrases I have collected over time. A kid in the 90s, our classrooms were filled with laminated inspirational posters tacked to a cork-board covered door, pleading us to be “inspired” or “motivated.” The works focus on color relationships, contrasted with hand drawn floral elements, and the play of watercolor and gouache washes on paper.
