Hand carved wooden frame featuring bold Black Forest style detailing with deeply textured surfaces and applied foliate corner motifs. The frame is constructed from dark stained wood with a warm, aged patina, contrasted by an original gilt inner liner.
The carving is intentionally rustic and expressive rather than finely academic, characteristic of late 19th to early 20th century folk influenced Alpine carving. The projecting corner blocks and layered woodwork give the piece strong architectural presence.
Visible wear, tool marks, and surface variation are consistent with age and contribute to its authenticity and character. Structurally solid and ready for display.
