This is a great piece. I have been buying a lot of contemporary photography lately as the market seems to be really on the move. Photography has finally been recognized as a form of fine art and I think the many of the works I am offering have both fine art and historical significance. This is a wonderful original photographer by contemporary artist and photographer ryan mcintosh. For those not familiar with the artist, I have included his biography below. This is an early photograph by the artist. According to is biography, this comes from before he went on the 10 year hiatus from the medium. Having come back in the last few years, he has had quite a few shows of his new photography of scenes of los angeles. This is a wonderful early work of a reclining nude. Gelatin silver photograph measuring 6 1/2 x 9 1/2 inches on original mount. Signed in pencil to the mount lower right below the image. Artist's original stamp verso with pencil signature and title. Details of the print as well in pencil at the bottom margin verso. Archival matte over is ready for framing. Matte measures 16 x 20 inches.
For those not familiar with the artist, his biography from a gallery that sells his works reads: "ryan mcintosh is an artist living and working in los angeles, california. He received his mfa in printmaking from rhode island school of design, and his bfa in photography from the university of arizona. In 2007 he felt heavy limitations of what one could artistically express with the camera and so he quit working in the medium of traditional b&w darkroom based photography. His artistic interests were towards other means of expression such as painting, printmaking and collaborating with other artists.
Last year (2017) ryan broke a ten year hiatus away from creating photography. This new body of work made exclusively with a 70 year old 8 x 10 kodak view camera and a preferred old stock of long discontinued, expired photo paper: allows the process to become purely analog. The immediacy and instant gratification we've come to know with photograph today is instantly halted by the process of using such vintage equipment. Working this way is not out of nostalgia or sentiment for the past, but rather his desire to slow down every step of the image making process and forcing himself to spend time studying and composing the subject equal time crafting the expressive fine print in the darkroom.
Photography has always been about documentation of what is in front of the camera. More so however, it is about the personal engagement with the world. These new photographs are less about the subject portrayed, and more about the visual experience had in their creation, and the visual experience thats translated to the viewer in the final print."

Orders where Free Local Pickup or Seller Managed Local Delivery were selected:
- Upon inspection, If you decide not to move forward with the purchase, you or your agent must refuse the item at the time of pickup/delivery from the seller
- Once you have taken possession of the item, all sales are final
- International, cross-border returns may require different processes depending on the countries between which the item is shipping to/from, and the buyer is responsible and duties (if applicable, on cross-border orders).

Cancellations

- Chairish Express In-Home deliveries are currently only offered for international cross-border shipments.

- Deliveries can take anywhere from 6 to 9 weeks to be delivered.
- Chairish Freight Delivery
- Delivered in a crate, to your front door.
- You will need tools and/or equipment to open the crate.

- Chairish Freight deliveries can take anywhere from 4 to 8 weeks.
