this is really a wonderful original. I recently acquired an incredible collection of original works by harriette g miller at a country auction. After getting home and going through all the items I bought at this auction, I am starting to believe they all come directly from the artist's estate. One of the paintings I acquired was from another artist and inscribed to miller. And then one of the portraits I bought was by another different artist but was of miller herself. For those not familiar with harriette miller I have included her biography below. This is really a wonderful painting. A large pre war still life. Oil on canvas measuring 21 x 29 inches. Signed and dated lower right corner. A wonderful view of a bowl of vegetables on the table. Painting is in excellent clean condition. Really pretty much as painted with perhaps some very slight surface grime. This one is presented in a contemporary gold frame that shows some flaking and loss to the gold. On the back of the stretcher is the original label with title and date as well as an inventory label. Really just a good presentation of this excellent painting. Frame measures 22 1/4 x 30 inches. If you collect millers work make sure you check my store for the others I am offering. Happy to combine shipping when it is safe for the paintings.
For those not familiar with the artist her biography from the bennington museum in vermont reads: "miller was born in cleveland and attended the cleveland school of art. She then studied in new york with urban realist painter jerome myers followed by time in paris studying with charles alexandre picart-le-doux. Miller's first husband was harry payne bingham, a new york financier and philanthropist, and vice president of the metropolitan museum of art. They divorced in 1925, and she married george harlan miller, a diplomat stationed in paris in 1926. They moved to "whimsy farm" in arlington, vermont, where miller became active in the local arts scene and was a founding member of the southern vermont art center in manchester, vermont. "
