Stunning late 19th century Empire style mirror from the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City.
The mirror features a pediment with a Greek godess holdind a urn, surrounded by swans on scrolling waves. Swans represents love, fidelity, and beauty, fitting the opulent, imperial aesthetic of the early 19th-century Empire period.
View its condition, its provenance is most likely from the original 1893 first Astoria Hotel on 33rd Street and Fifth Avenue, and was sold in auction to the public when the hotel was demolished in 1929.
