This is just a great original piece. This is one of those pieces I am happy to own until someone is willing to pay my price for the print. I have been unable to find another example having every sold, or even another example out on the market. For those not familiar with the artist, I have included his biography below. This is a wonderful original print that holds so much relevance to the world today. Serigraph on paper with the image measuring 14 x 14 1/2 inches. Signed, dated, titled, and numbered in pencil below the image. Excellent condition with just possibly some very light fading to the image. Archival matte and black frame are in good condition. A few small minor nicks. Print has not been examined out of the frame. Frame measures 23 1/4 x 23 1/4 inches.
For those not familiar with the artist, his biography from a gallery that sells the artist's work reads: "richard haynes is an african american artist who resides with his family in portsmouth, new hampshire. He was born in charleston, south carolina and was raised in new york city. He served four years in the united states air force during the vietnam era as a dental technician and he received an mfa from pratt institute in 1979. He is the associate director of admissions for diversity at the university of new hampshire. His past and present board affiliations include the u.S. Commission on civil rights/nh advisory committee, portsmouth black heritage trail/president, currier advisory council, currier art center task force, ogunquit museum of american art, the portsmouth athenaeum,/proprietor, save the pearl, art-speak city of portsmouth cultural commission, seacoast african american cultural center and mcintosh college graphic design and photography. Randall publisher, 2002, and ”regalia, native american dance,” sundance publishing, 1993; book award: 1998 read, america collection. Richard is an american visual storyteller, a cultural keeper and maker. He uses his art not only to make society aware of the invisible in this world but also to provoke unity. It reflects his own colorful and diverse life. Richard is a painter, photographer, educator, lecturer, professor, mentor, and a strong advocate for social justice. "
