Decorated with a purple transfer-printed pastoral allegorical scene, enhanced with hand colouring, after French galant engraving traditions.

Finished with pink/copper lustre banding to the rim and pink-lilac overglaze enamel border details. Unmarked, as typical for early Staffordshire wares of this type.

A strong decorative piece combining period form, transfer decoration and surviving lustre highlights.
