Dimensions: height … Read more This pair of slender ikebana vases features an elegant, slightly flared neck and a beautifully balanced, pear-shaped body.

Dimensions: height 30 cm, diameter 14/12 cm.

The glaze is a soft celadon green with a fine crackle that gives the surface extra depth. A floral motif is modelled in relief with slender leaves and scrolling stems, allowing the light to play beautifully across the raised lines. One vase is decorated all around (front and back), while the other has the relief on the front only, giving the pair that appealing, asymmetrical “studio” feel when styled together.

Thanks to their shape, they work especially well for ikebana and minimalist arrangements: a single branch or a few seasonal flowers.

Even without flowers, they make strong interior accents thanks to the calm colour and the tactile texture of the relief.

On the base, both vases carry an impressed maker’s seal in a square cartouche, each combined with an additional gourd-shaped mark. The seal reads Gazan, making an attribution to Noma Gazan (野間雅山) possible. See less
