Remondini Architectural Views, Bassano, circa 1770. A series of four copper engravings, colored at the time. The optical views published by the Remondinis truly represent Italian popular printing: simple in their lines, quickly and boldly colored with a few shades, they are captivating for their immediacy and have been the subject of numerous exhibitions, collections, and studies in recent years. The views were intended for inclusion in the New World, where commoners could see them illuminated and thus learn about the cities of the world.
In detail, they depict the Quirinale Palace in Rome, the Viceroy's Palace in Naples, the Arsenal Palace in Berlin, and finally the view of the Piazza Grande in Parma.
The Remondinis were a family of printers operating in Bassano, who created one of the most important copperplate engravings in Europe, reaching its peak in the second half of the 18th century; it closed its doors in 1861.
The engravings are presented in antique frames with gilded trim; They are in good condition, trimmed at the edges. This piece has an attribution mark,
