The top features a dark green faux leather insert and two front drawers with original handles. This type of desk was used in public offices such as the royal academy of music. The desk is made of a warm, amber-toned wood, with visible grain suggesting the use of woods such as walnut or stained oak. It has four straight, solid, square legs. The feet feature a decorative or protective detail in a darker, almost black, color.
