For sale is a recently restored/renovated Biedermeier four-drawer writing desk/composer, a piece of writing furniture that is both magnificent and practical. The walnut veneer is particularly striking and distinctive, reflecting the overall appearance of the desk and extending across all four drawers and the writing section. By folding out the first drawer panel, the writing section with its elegant six small drawers becomes accessible. The writing surface of the desk features exquisite marquetry/inlays – see photos. The four drawers of the writing desk open and close smoothly and can be locked with a key. The original brass fittings are also a notable feature. The interior of the desk is sanded and has a pleasant aroma. This writing desk is clean, sturdy, and in pristine condition, having been hand-polished with shellac. This is a beautiful original piece from the Biedermeier period that you should treat yourself to. See less
