Ideal for repurposing the item as a candle holder, allowing light to shine through the perforated decoration.

The brazier was an institution and stood proudly in the center of the room, mounted on a large circular wooden platform where one could rest one's feet to warm oneself. It had a large hole in the center, where the copper or brass brazier rested; two engraved handles were placed on the edge for carrying it. Over time, they came in various types and shapes, also to have a certain aesthetic impact, given that it was the focal point of the evening and the room.

It, containing embers and coals that burned very slowly, was left outside the window even before entering the house, until the fires remained smoldering and there was no longer any danger from toxic fumes. Every now and then, the embers needed to be poked with a suitable poker; sometimes even an old spoon would work. See less
