A glazed earthenware fat or confit pot – formerly used to preserve meat in pork or duck fat. Made in the 19th century, around 1800-1850, with a yellow glaze over slip, featuring beautiful drips and petrified droplets around the rim. In excellent condition with only minor imperfections typical of its age. These yellow pots are characteristic of Southwest France and Provence. This particular one comes from a workshop in Castelnaudary and is rare with these beautiful drips. Use it as a decorative piece in a beautiful kitchen, perhaps with dried flowers, or to store your wooden kitchen utensils. I have official proof of authenticity such as vintage catalogs,
designer records,
or other literature sources and take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising
from
misattribution
