manufacturing and dating: the museum-quality of the piece is attested by the marks on the bottom:

· the classic vase logo and the initials jt (joost thooft).

· the inscription "delft" in italics.

· the model code "3039".

· the letters at the bottom right "dh", which in the royal delft dating system indicate the year of production 1988.

· the letters at the left "amo", the initials of the master decorator. The original blue and silver "koninklijke porceleyne fles" label is also present.

design and decoration: the vase features a refined polygonal (ribbed) body, creating an interesting play of light on the white glazed surface. The decoration is the classic delfts blauw (delft blue): rich floral motifs with peonies and swirling foliage, painted entirely freehand with great skill. The lid, topped with a finial shaped like a seated heraldic lion, a traditional symbol of the city of delft and the netherlands, adds a touch of class to the object's vertical silhouette.
