Glazed and vitrified ceramic sculpture, entirely hand-molded and decorated, depicting a young fakir playing the fife to release the snake from the vase. The inscription "Italy" is present under the base. In our opinion, the sculpture was made by Leopold Anzengruber, famous for creating sculptures similar to this one, often signed only with the place of production, as is the case here. The object dates to around 1950, and the fine patina covering it, especially under the base, is perfectly consistent with our dating.
This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
