Born in the early/mid 19th century, featuring elegant brass trim and fittings, single faux candle light, surrounded by the original shade frame, stamped Palmer patent. Over the signed and stamped gilded label that reads Palmer & Co, Patent, with crown, lion rampant and unicorn shield, over a brass Corinthian capital, with original opaline glass font column, raised on a stepped patinated brass square base. There is an extending steel reservoir inside the column that was originally used for a candle.

Classical form and design, this fine quality English antique, circa 1825, makes for a rare and wonderful piece of history.
