Beautiful hand-turned wooden lidded box made of cherry wood, decorated with hand-painted folk motifs. The floral decoration features yellow alpine flowers (likely arnica) combined with red berries (rose hips) and blue grapes with green leaves with a warm natural patina.
Probably handcrafted in Alpine region of Central Europe (Southern Germany / Austria / Switzerland), circa 1920. Originally used as a small storage or sugar box.
A charming and authentic example of early 20th-century folk craftsmanship in original condition.
