A pair of ceramic candlesticks, ca. 1930s. Two low, round ceramic candlesticks with broad bases and shallow holders. Glazed in a vivid orange uranium glaze with finely incised decoration forming a sunburst-like pattern. Both candlesticks signed underneath with hak (herman a. Svend hammershøi (1873–1948) was one of denmark’s most prominent ceramicists, associated with the kähler workshop from 1893 until his death.
