This sink has a patent date of 1904, and the company was purchased by American Standard in 1929, making it most likely over one hundred years old. There are slots in the bottom for it to be used with a console base, or it can be "deck-mounted". The latter is how it was set up before we acquired it. This looks to be the easiest and least expensive route to take, as all it involves is cutting a hole in the countertop, applying sealant and setting the sink down. The sink is in amazing condition for its age, with very few blemishes to be found, and it looks excellent from all angles. After a detailed inspection in a search for damage or excessive wear, it was found that a great majority of the small blemishes present are actually part of the make up of the piece. There are actually only two chips on the entire sink that required a micrometer to measure. Aside from relatively few very faint scratches from what looks like light use, the following was found: The horizontal surface where the faucet resides and around and in front of the bowl is excellent overall with no blemishes, and the raised area that runs around is fine, save for a 0.1" chip a couple inches from the back on the right side, and another the same size at the front toward the left. These are both small and do not stand out. The interior of the basin in excellent condition overall. There is an area of light crazing on the right, front, and the rest is very nice. Not only is there no discoloration or a single chip, but it is virtually free of scratches, and the finish is glossy from the rim down to the bottom. 4" to the left of the drain hole is one of the small blemishes that was present when the sink was new. It measures 0.16" and has a slightly blue tint to it. The entire outside vertical surface is also in very good condition. The front, back, and right sides are blemish free, and the left is the same, but for a "built-in" 0.2" rust colored mark near the back. The underside of the sink is excellent overall, with no crazing or damage, and it is now free of the caulking that was once present. Please see the pictures for further details.
