This rim soup bowl was produced by Longchamp in France as part of the Moustiers Blue series, a mid-century interpretation of traditional Provençal faience.
The 9-inch form is executed in porcelain or fine earthenware and finished with a blue transfer decoration inspired by historic Moustiers motifs. The central figure and floral elements reflect eighteenth-century pastoral themes, rendered here in a clean monochrome palette characteristic of Longchamp’s postwar production.
A scalloped molded rim adds definition to the profile and emphasizes the bowl’s French Country aesthetic. The piece demonstrates the durability and stylistic consistency for which Longchamp tableware is recognized.
