The sculptural form features a ribbed melon-shaped body topped with a fitted lid and stem finial, resting on an attached leaf tray.

Inspired by traditional 18th century English creamware designs, this example represents later revival production, likely mid- to late-20th century. Over a century after the original Leeds Creamware factory was closed, authentic Leedsware Classical Creamware has revived the art of handmade English quality, recreating the fine tableware. (For bragging rights, these wares were seen in Downton Abbey.)

The soft ivory glaze, botanical detailing, and substantial scale make it an appealing English country, traditional, or neoclassical accent. See less
